ACTOR Born in
London in 1963.
One of the
UK's better talents, Mark Strong made his initial
breakthrough in the superb Our Friends in the North and in
In 2004 Mark’s portrayal of the lead character of Harry
Starks in The Long Firm (BBC2) earned him much critical
acclaim as well as a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor. In
addition to film and television work, he has performed at
the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare
Company. He appeared in London and New York in the
award-winning productions of Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya,
directed by Sam Mendes, for which he received an Olivier
nomination.
Other television credits include, Births, Marriages and
Deaths (BBC), Prime Suspect 6 (ITV) and Henry VIII (ITV).
Plus the Channel 4 BAFTA-winning drama Falling Apart, Anna
Karenina (2000) and ITV’s Emma (1997).
BAFTA-nominated
Mark Strong will soon be seen in Danny Boyle’s follow up
to 28 Days Later, new sci-fi thriller Sunshine.
Mark is currently filming Stardust directed by Matthew
Vaughan, which also stars Robert DeNiro, Michelle Pfeiffer
and Claire Danes. |
