SPOOKS ITS COMING BACK

BBC1 / Autumn 2007

Spooks is coming back for a fantastic 6th season and this time out there is to be more of a focus on the teams activities with regards to Iran and the US.

As always the shows writers have their finger on the pulse of the moment with the whole of the series closing in on Irans plans to become a nuclear power and the mistrust that that is sowing the governments of the western world. The team will be in Tehran as well as the US and the UK and it looks like this could be the best series yet.

Most of seasons five cast are returning, (Rupert Penry-Jones, Hermione Norris and Peter Firth return as officers Adam, Ros and Harry of Section D, MI5, along with Raza Jaffrey, Miranda Raison and Hugh Simonas as Zaf, Jo and Malcom). There is also a new arrival in the shape of Connie (Gemma Jones) an old MI5 colleague of Harrys, we will also see the return of Anna Chancellor as Juliet Shaw the one time National Security Co-Ordinator.

There will also be guest appearances from Matthew Marsh as CIA Agent Bob Hogan and Robert Glenister, who resumes his role as Home Secretary.

Spooks is due to air this autumn.
