Magician and
personality born in Middlesborough, England in 1938.
One of the
UK's leading magicians whose greatest fame was in the 1970's
and 80's where he diversified as not only a quiz show host
(with shows such as Odd One Out and Every Second Counts) but
also children's TV in the shape of Wizbit. Started
his TV career by coming second on Opportunity Knocks in
1970. His 1985 Easter special Magic Show won the
Golden Rose of Montreux Award. These
days seems happy enough to send up his image on various chat
shows and reality shows, usually appearing with his wife and
stage assistant Debbie McGee (who was once asked on The Mrs
Merton Chat Show "so what first attracted you to
millionaire Paul Daniels"). He is also fond of buying
and selling on Ebay. |
