COUNTDOWN 25 BIRTHDAY SPECIAL
The first ever programme to be transmitted on Channel 4 has reached a truly momentous milestone; Countdown , the nations favourite words and numbers game celebrates its 25th anniversary on Friday 2nd November with a one-off birthday special. Presented by Des O'Connor and Carol Vorderman, the programme features a host of birthday surprises including birthday wishes from celebrity fans including Terry Wogan, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Patrick Moore, Lord Richard Attenborough and some familiar faces from favourite soap operas.
To mark this historic achievement, an exhibition match takes place between two of the very best and most memorable players from the programme's twenty-five year history. Chris Wills, a viewers favourite will compete against 16 year old Conor Travers, who became the series' youngest ever champion at just 14.
