ALAN BLEASDALE 

WRITER Born in Liverpool, England in 1946. 

Very highly regarded writer whose work has tended towards the working class, social injustice and political. Broke through to the mainstream with the now legendary Boys From The Blackstuff and Scully, continuing on with the controversial Monocled Mutineer and GBH. Latterly has worked on adaptations such as a revamped Francis Durbridge thriller (Melissa) and a dark version of Oliver Twist.
